Reilly History

Named for one of the co-founders of the Mission Viejo Company, Philip J. Reilly opened in 1990.  Nestled in a small neighborhood community, Reilly prides itself on its active parent group and tight-knit family atmosphere. The school is unique in that it was constructed as the first joint venture project between a school district, Capistrano Unified School District (CUSD), and the Orange County Department of Education (OCDE). The school provides an integrated facility where disabled and non-disabled students have meaningful opportunities to interact with one another.  Reilly has been honored to be named both a California Distinguished School and a National Blue Ribbon School.  


Our staff at Reilly provide a comprehensive, balanced program which promotes Great First Instruction (GFI) focusing on high scholastic achievement for all students. Emphasis is placed on 21st century student-centered learning activities which allow students to apply skills in language arts, social science, science, and mathematics to real life scenarios. Our outstanding staff and students use a variety of technological resources as tools to increase student learning throughout all areas of the curriculum. We deliver a strong academic program focusing on curriculum which is closely aligned with the Common Core State Standards, utilizing strategies that promote Great First Instruction in every classroom. We consistently monitor and reflect on our instructional programs to produce positive learning outcomes.
